Pre-Prep: Preparing for “Big School” (3–5 years)

The Pre-Prep year is such an exciting milestone — a time when children step confidently from play into more structured learning. At Play & Learn Upper Coomera, our Pre-Prep Rooms are led by university-qualified early childhood teachers delivering the Queensland Government-approved Kindergarten Program. Our goal is to ensure every child is ready for Prep — academically, socially, and emotionally — while still embracing the joy and wonder of play.

Ratios & Care
We offer two Pre-Prep rooms, each with up to 26 children supported by 3 caring and experienced educators. This balance allows children to flourish in group settings while still receiving individual attention.

Program Highlights

• Free Kindy funding: 15 hours per week for 40 weeks each year, built into our long day care program for your convenience

• Play-based curriculum: Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines

• Excursions & school visits: Helping children feel confident and comfortable as they transition to formal schooling

• Enrichment activities: Yoga, dance, languages, and music — all included at no extra cost

• Balanced development: Building literacy, numeracy, resilience, social skills, and emotional readiness, while nurturing a lifelong love of learning

Meals & Care
Our onsite chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals and snacks daily. Families can relax knowing all essentials — nappies, sunscreen, hats, and resources — are provided for your child’s comfort and wellbeing.

In Pre-Prep, children are given the best of both worlds: a joyful, play-based program and the solid foundations they need for a smooth, confident start to school.
